Grand Prix Museum

Opened 1993 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Macau Grand Prix, which features a number of automobile and motorbike races and takes place every year in November. It started in 1954 due to the enthusiasm of a group of Macau residents and the support of the authorities./span>
 

Wine Museum

The main target of this museum is to bring the visitor into contact with the social, economical and cultural importance of wine in Portuguese culture, traditions, daily life and celebratory rituals.
 

Macao Science Center

The Macau Science Center is designed by world-renowned Chinese-American architect I.M. Pei. It is instantly recognizable by its silvery, cone-shaped exterior. There are fourteen galleries arranged in a spiral and accentuated by an arch shape. The Center also generates 3D effects in the Space Theatre of the Planetarium and gives visitors an entertaining yet educational insight into the fascinating world of science. In addition, a same-scale model of the Shenzhou-VII spaceship and a number of automatic intelligent robots will be featured in the Macau Science Center.
 

A-Ma Temple

The oldest and most famous Taoist temple in Macau, the temple is dedicated to Matsu, the goddess of seafarers and fishermen. The name Macau is thought to be derived from the name of the temple.
 

Lilau Square

The ground water of Lilau used to be the main source of natural spring water in Macau. The Portuguese popular phrase: “One who drinks from Lilau never forgets Macau” expresses the locals’ nostalgic attachment to Lilau Square.
 

Senado Square

Senado Square has been Macao’s urban centre for centuries, and is still the most popular venue for public events and celebrations today. The square is surrounded by pastel-coloured neo-classical buildings, creating a consistent and harmonious Mediterranean atmosphere.
 

Ruins of St. Paul’s

The Ruins of St. Paul’s refer to the facade of what was originally the Church of Mater Dei built in 1602-1640 and the ruins of St. Paul’s College, which stood adjacent to the Church, both destroyed by fire in 1835.
 

Guia Fortress

This fortress was, together with Mount Fortress, invaluable in fending off the attempted Dutch. Macau takes its co-ordinates from the exact location of the lighthouse. Guia Fortress, along with the chapel and lighthouse are symbols of Macau’s maritime, military and missionary past.
